1. Who we are
1099Calc is operated by Cloud Syndicate, LLC. You can reach us at hello@1099calc.net.
2. What we collect today
Calculator inputs. Net 1099 income, filing status, W-2 income, deductions, and similar values are processed entirely in your browser. They never leave your device. We do not store them, transmit them, or have any way to access them.
Server access logs. Standard web-server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user-agent, referrer) are retained approximately 30 days for security and abuse detection.
Local browser storage. A single localStorage flag (a2hs_dismissed_v1) remembers whether you dismissed the "Add to Home Screen" prompt. This is strictly-necessary functional storage. You can clear it via your browser settings.
3. What we do NOT collect
No accounts, no signups, no emails, no payment information, no fingerprinting. We do not have a contact form, login system, or any field that asks for personal information. See §4 for what the analytics and advertising tags do collect.
4. Analytics and advertising
Consent banner active. First-time visitors from the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and California see a consent prompt managed by Google's Funding Choices CMP, delivered through the AdSense tag. Until you grant consent (or it isn't required in your region), analytics and advertising cookies are blocked via Google Consent Mode v2 (default: denied).
Google Analytics 4 (G-XMK4GKGV27). Collects anonymized IP address, page URL, referrer, session duration, page-view count, device and browser type. Used solely to understand traffic — what pages people visit, what queries they search to find us. Does not collect personally identifying information, calculator inputs (those never leave your browser), or form data (the site has no forms). All visitors start with analytics_storage set to denied (Consent Mode v2 default). In EEA/UK/Switzerland and California the consent banner can change that for analytics cookies; outside those regions, GA4 operates in cookieless modeled mode — aggregate behavior measured without writing analytics cookies to your device.
Google AdSense (ca-pub-9896166999625081). Serves contextual advertising. Collects ad-targeting cookies (only with consent), ad-impression data, and ad-interaction data. Subject to your CMP choice. Without consent, you may see only non-personalized ads (limited-ads mode), or no ads if AdSense disables serving for your geography.
Reset consent. Use the "Manage cookie settings" link in the page footer to re-open the consent banner at any time.
5. Third parties today
Google LLC, for the services described in §4 and for static hosting (Google Cloud Storage). No other third parties.
6. Your rights
GDPR (EEA / UK / Switzerland): you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
CCPA / CPRA (California): you have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Today we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@1099calc.net.
7. Children
1099Calc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. (COPPA.)
8. Affiliate links
The site may include affiliate links to tax software, accounting tools, or related products. When that happens, those links will be marked. Affiliate platforms set their own cookies; we will disclose specifics in the Disclaimer once the first affiliate link goes live.
9. Changes
Material changes will be flagged with a revised effective date at the top of this page.
